LANER UV Lacquers is a chemical manufacturing company, established in 1983, in Istanbul – Turkey. This family-owned business was meant to manufacture LAcquer and thinNER, which gave the name LANER, to the company. After several years, serving to the automotive industry, in 1991, the company decided to focus and specialize in one field; UV Coatings. Laner is manufacturing only UV coatings, ever since, which means an experience of almost 30 years in UV coating industry. Back in those days, there was only a couple of raw material suppliers and Laner R&D was working together with those suppliers, not only for developing finished UV coatings but also fine-tuning new raw materials.
Supporting the printing industry to start and pick up the UV technology in the homeland, Laner soon conquered the local UV coatings market and a few years later, in 2001, started to export the UV coatings.
The export business initiated with the neighboring countries and soon migrated further away. Although export business increased the production and sales volumes remarkably, the first major breakthrough came with the participation of 2004 Drupa Exhibition / Düsseldorf – Germany. With this extravagant exhibition, Laner broke its boundaries in export and reached new customers all over the world.
Soon after that, Laner celebrated hitting the 1.000tons/year production mark. The product portfolio was enriched with niche UV coatings, some of which become legendary with their unique structure, like Effect and Emboss. Back-to-back participations to the reputable exhibitions all over Europe, increased the production volume in such a way, that the company moved into its own, purpose-built new factory in 2011. Next year, the 2.000tons/year production target was easily achieved.
Today, Laner is the foremost manufacturer of its territory, exporting approx. 40% of its production to tens of countries, all over the world, from Asia to Africa, from the Middle East to Europa, even to South America.
The latest expansion in export operation is the establishment in the US market, with its own manpower, knowledge and inventory. Crosslink Supplies, run by the former Sales & Export Manager Kaya Gucmen (BSc. In Chemical Engineering) is the closest and strongest link between the US printing industry and Laner UV coatings.
Today, Crosslink Supplies is presenting a similarly impressive growth in the US market. Every day new customers are successfully testing and gladly welcoming the wide product range of this new UV coatings portfolio.
